The Emergency Department, located on the first floor facing Fern Avenue, is a 21-bed, level II patient treatment area providing initial evaluation and management of pediatric, adult and geriatric patients. It has an active Paramedic Base Station to direct pre-hospital advanced life support activities. The Base Station radio call is answered by the MICN nurse, with continued monitoring by the Base Station physician. The department is staffed 24 hours per day with an emergency medicine board certified staff physician.
Over 44,000 patients are seen per year with the primary diagnoses being, the following: cardiac, respiratory, orthopedic, general medical, minor trauma, pediatric, psychiatric and obstetrical emergencies.
