Employee of the Month
Karen Allison, LVN, Emergency Dept.
October 2004

When Karen Allison was told she was the September Employee of the Month, she thought it was a joke.
The truth is that Karen is a very deserving recipient of the honor.
She was hired three years ago as an LVN for the Emergency Department. Her co-workers say she is a flexible, enthusiastic self-starter who makes sound decisions and is attentive to detail.
Her attentiveness to patient care was also illustrated by a thank-you note from a patient that was read at the celebration.
"This award could have gone to anyone in the Emergency Department because we all work as a team," Karen said at the celebration held in her honor earlier this month. She was also described as someone who handles pressure well. She never calls in sick and maximizes her scope of practice to help the RNs.
Bob Tyson, clinical staff educator, said Karen is a vital resource when it comes to the team nursing that takes place in the ER. He said, "Karen is able to handle anything and pair with anyone." |
