Employee of the Month January 2006

Surrounded by many of her ER co-workers and other RCH hospital employees, Joanna Shedd, ER Charge Nurse, was awarded Employee of the Month.

Jerri Dumithan, a grateful grandmother, praised Joanna for her professionalism and compassion when her grandson was rushed to the hospital due to a serious injury.

"Joanna was very competent in managing the situation during all the turmoil and was able to care for my grandson all at the same time," said Jerri. "She is an amazing person, and you should be very proud to have her managing your Emergency Department."

Others did not stop there with the compliments.

"We've received messages from other hospitals stating that Joanna is a breath of fresh air," said Diane Johnson, PCC for the ER. "She is instrumental in turning the moral of the night shift around in a positive direction and in assisting the department with continued high Press Ganey results. She is a true treasure to this hospital."
