Licensed Vocational Nurse

SUMMARY: Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the nursing care of residents within the skilled nursing setting. Responsible for ensuring continuity of care of the residents between shifts by providing direct care as well as supervising the care given by CNAs, and supporting staff members. Participates in resident and family teaching. Maintains role as resident advocate with a focus on the facilities mission.
 

EDUCATION: Must possess, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university or be a graduate of an approved LVN/RN program.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Current licensure as a Vocational Nurse in the State of California
  2. Current BLS certification
  3. Prefer experience in skilled nursing facility
  4. Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
  5. Additional languages preferred
  6. Basic computer knowledge

___ CATEGORY III: Tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissue and Category I and II tasks are not a condition of employment.

Standard precautions are utilized for the care of all patients. Category I and Category II employees are eligible for Hepatitis B vaccination at no cost to the employee.
