Redlands Community Hospital Honors Dedication and Contributions of
Volunteers
75 Volunteers Receive Awards for More Than
55,000 Combined Hours of Service
| REDLANDS, CA - Redlands
Community Hospital honored 75 volunteers Tuesday, October 17, at
their Auxiliary General Meeting for their unwavering support to
patients, physicians and hospital staff. |

| With more
than 55,000 combined hours of service, volunteers play a vital role
in contributing to the quality of care at Redlands Community
Hospital. Volunteers assist in nearly every area of the hospital
including admitting, gift shop, nursing units, pharmacy, information
desks, emergency services, outpatient service areas and clerical
areas. |

| Volunteers
Luis Vega, Teal Taylor, Illeen White and Warren Monroe were honored
as "Rookies of the Year" for their great dedication to excel in
their fields of service. |
|

|
| Ann
McMahon received an award for 25 years of service; Claudia Martin,
Leal Tallman, Jan Windhausen and Avonne Zevenbergen for 10 years of
service; and Nancy Bologna, Nancy Brown, Bill Keough, Ginger Lester,
Larry Marona, Marcea Nichols, Marlene Padavick, Joyce Perrah, Marcia
Van Mouwerik, and Bonnie Wallman for five years of service. Carol
Huston was recognized for donating 16,000 hours of service over her
34 years as a hospital volunteer. |

| Volunteers
with more than 100 hours of service were presented with an award in
recognition for their contributions, including: Anna Harper, 10,000
hours; Darlene Hatch, 5,000 hours; James Stellar, Dorothy Taub, Teal
Taylor and Avonne Zevenbergen for 4,000 hours each; Mitch Heitritter,
Carolyn Johns and Barbara Thomas for 3,000 hours each; Ginger
Tennant for 2,000 hours; Margaret Alexander, Lorraine Hartik, Mary
Johnson, Warren Monroe, Rita Prentice and Ileen White for 1,000
hours each; Maggie Barrett, Caroline Biscotti, Marilyn Caminiti,
Carol Faulkner, Diana Gray, Martha Handzel, Edwin Houston, Samuel
Miranda, and Claudia Roach for 500 hours; Ardith Bigelow, Diane
Brown, Patricia Burkhart, Donald Burton, Elisa Diehl, Gayleen
Henning, Michael Kirk, Natalie Murone, Rosario Palafox, Rekha Patel,
David Peters, Susan Tedrow, Peter VanderKooy, and Sheryl Wilson for
100 each. |

| Junior
volunteers honored were: Jane Aritonang for 500 hours; and Priscylla
Cass, Rebecca Chavez, Katie Crow, Leslie DeLaCruz, Christina Flammia,
Courtney Holzhauser, Jared Jabonillo, Jamie Lofton, Stacy Lumabao,
Skylar Matthews, Ashley Morse, Laura Navarro, Jamie Pak, Kate
Reynolds, and Philip Suh for 100 hours each. |

extremely grateful for the dedication that each of our volunteers
demonstrates in providing compassion, comfort and support for
patients and staff," said Pat Schindler, Director of Volunteer
Services. "When you think about the intangible contributions these
men and women make to our facility and our community, it is
incredible." |

| Dave Maupin
of Redlands presented a program about Quarters for Kenya to the
group. Maupin emphasized the value of volunteerism and giving, as he
made the connection between the hospital volunteers and the need for
help in Kenya. |
