REDLANDS, CA – August 3, 2017- Redlands Community Hospital (“RCH”)
relies on the generous support of the donors within the communities it serves.

In recognition of that support, Redlands Community Hospital Foundation
honored long time constituents with the prestigious Luminary Award at
their annual President’s Forum and Donor Appreciation Luncheon on
Wednesday, Sept. 27, held at Redlands Country Club.
This year, the Foundation honored several important recipients, people
and organizations that have truly gone above and beyond the call for Redlands
Community Hospital.
Honorees this year included the Redlands Police Officers Foundation, who
have been faithful contributors to our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit; Bradley
B. Basinger, M.D., a longtime supporter who recently gifted part of his
valuable art collection to the hospital; major benefactors Russell and
Jan Burch; and Valerie Kaura, MSRN, FNP-BC, Director of Critical Care at RCH.
“Our donors are very important, enabling the hospital to accomplish
its mission of providing high-quality care to our neighbors within the
many communities we proudly serve,” said Jan Opdyke, president of
the Redlands Community Hospital Foundation. “Their support is essential
to helping us stay current in a fast-changing healthcare environment.
This luncheon was one way we can say ‘thank-you’ for their
continuous support.”
Harvey Hansen, Vice President of Professional and General Services also
presented a “state of the hospital” overview that included
an update on the many important projects and programs at the hospital
including the expansion of the Emergency Department.
“This hospital is a light to the community, and it burns much brighter
thanks to the overwhelming support we receive from our donors,”
said Lynn Whitmer, chairman of the Redlands Community Hospital Foundation
board. “We can’t say ‘thank you’ enough for the
support they give us; this luncheon is one way we can let them know what
we feel in our hearts.”
