Speech Therapy
The goal of the Speech Therapy Department is to deliver comprehensive services
to individuals with oral-motor dysfunction and language disorders caused
by stroke, disability, or other medical conditions. Our skilled therapists
work with patients throughout the hospital, from the Neonatal Intensive
Care Unit to the Transitional Care Unit. The therapists work with family
to help the smallest patients learn to eat and thrive in the NICU. They
also help the adult population learn and regain their speech abilities
with oral exercises and language retraining.
Speech Therapy also provides outpatient services to pediatric and adult
clients. Serving individuals from 16 months to 99 years. The very busy
pediatric program keeps our staff moving through group play to individualized
speech and learning activities. Adult clients are treated for difficulty
with speech, swallowing, and voice problems on an individual basis in
this busy outpatient area.
