President's Luminary Awards
REDLANDS, CA –Oct. 2, 2017- The Redlands Community Hospital Foundation
(RCHF) recently awarded its President’s Luminary Awards to donors
who have given their time, talents and financial resources to further
the mission of the 123-year-old community hospital.
The presentation of the awards was conducted during the annual President’s
Forum luncheon. The honorees included: the Redlands Police Officers Foundation,
who have been faithful contributors to the RCH Neonatal Intensive Care
Unit; Bradley B. Basinger, M.D., a dedicated supporter who gifted part
of his valuable art collection to the hospital; major benefactors: Russell
and Jan Burch; and Valerie Kaura, MSRN, FNP-BC, director of critical care at RCH.
“Our donors play a vital role in helping our hospital thrive,”
said Jan Opdyke, president of the Redlands Community Hospital Foundation.
“Their support allows us to achieve our overall mission of providing
high-quality health care to our neighbors. Our physicians, care team and
hospital staff are thankful for their loyalty and generosity.”
Harvey Hansen, vice president of professional and general services delivered
a “state of the hospital” overview which included an update
on upcoming projects, such as the expansion of the emergency department.
“This hospital is a light to the community, and it burns much brighter
thanks to the overwhelming support we receive from our donors,”
said Lynn Whitmer, chairman of the Redlands Community Hospital Foundation
board chair. “We can’t say ‘thank you’ enough
for the support they give us; this luncheon is one way we can let them
know what we feel in our hearts.”
