Perinatal Services
Perinatal Services offers no-cost confidential pregnancy testing for Medi-Cal
eligible women and assistance with obtaining temporary Medi-Cal and pregnancy
related medical care.
Perinatal Services offers several outpatient specialty education programs:
Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program (CPSP), diabetes and pregnancy
education, breastfeeding education, and childbirth education.

Our business hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Closed

or walk-in for same day service.
Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program
The Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program (CPSP) provides a variety of services and education to women prior to delivery
and up to 60 days after delivery. Goals of the program are to decrease
the incidence of low birth weight in infants, to improve the outcome of
every pregnancy, to give every baby a healthy start in life and to lower
health care costs by preventing catastrophic and chronic illness in infants
and children. The CPSP program is a Medi-Cal sponsored program for women
who are pregnant and are enrolled in straight Medi-Cal or a Medi-Cal Managed
Care Plan. Services include:
- Assistance with obtaining temporary Medi-Cal for pregnancy
- Obstetrician referral
- Access to pre-natal vitamins
- Childbirth preparation
- Health and nutrition education
- Pregnancy support and education
- Psychosocial evaluation and individualized counseling
- Post-partum support and education
- Pediatrician referral
- Referrals to community service agencies
Diabetes and Pregnancy Education
The Diabetes and Pregnancy Education Program provides education, evaluation and intervention for pregnant women with
diabetes or for women with diabetes planning to become pregnant. The goal
of the program is to improve pregnancy outcomes for women who have diabetes
or who develop diabetes during pregnancy (gestational diabetes) and to
reduce fetal deaths and neonatal and maternal complications due to diabetes.
Services include an initial evaluation and follow-up by a registered nurse
and dietitian.
Lactation Support
The Breastfeeding program provides breastfeeding education and support.
Appointments are available for group, and individual one-on-one education.
A friend and/or relative may attend your individual one-on-one appointment.
Lactation group session are free and are held every Monday from 10am-12

The childbirth preparation courses prepare the pregnant women and family
for childbirth. Classes are designed to provide practical and useful tools
in preparation of childbirth, such as:
- What to expect throughout the pregnancy
- What to expect during delivery
- Breastfeeding education and problem-solving solutions for successful breastfeeding
- Mother-Baby units orientation tour
