Preparation for Child Birth

Congratulations! You're pregnant!

Our childbirth classes are taught by our highly-skilled Perinatal Services registered nurses. You will learn about the growth and development of your baby, how your body changes throughout pregnancy, the importance of good nutrition, the benefits of and problem-solving solutions for successful breastfeeding, and possible warning signs you should report to your doctor.

All classes require advance registration; print out this form to register. Children are not permitted at the tours or in class. You can register and pay over the phone by calling our Perinatal Services Department at 909.793.6330, or mail your form and payment to: Redlands Community Hospital, Perinatal Services, Attn: Childbirth Education, P.O. Box 3391, Redlands CA 92374. You can also bring your form and payment to the Perinatal Services office at 802 W. Colton Avenue, Suite D, Redlands CA 92374. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Classes are held at the Weisser Education Pavilion at Redlands Community Hospital, 350 Terracina Blvd., Redlands CA 92373.

Please bring a yoga mat or towel for breathing and relaxation exercises, as floor mats will not be provided.

Childbirth Preparation

Childbirth Preparation classes are designed to provide expectant mothers and their families with practical and useful tools for childbirth. They include:

  • What to expect throughout pregnancy and during labor and delivery
  • Education and problem-solving skills for successful breastfeeding
  • Tour of the hospital’s mother-baby units

Cost: $100

Childbirth Refresher

The Childbirth Refresher class is designed for pregnant women who are experienced in childbirth or just need to revisit childbirth education, and will prepare them and their families for the upcoming birth. The short class includes:

  • What to expect during labor and delivery
  • Benefits of breastfeeding

Cost: $35

Breastfeeding Basics

Breastfeeding Basics provides an understanding of breastfeeding and basic tips for success. It is highly recommended for first-time mothers who plan to breastfeed.

Cost: $25
