The Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program (CPSP) provides a variety of services and education to women prior to and up to 60 days after delivery. Goals include decreasing the number of underweight infants, improving the outcome of every pregnancy, giving every baby a healthy start and lowering healthcare costs by preventing catastrophic and chronic illness in infants and children. CPSP is a Medi-Cal sponsored program for pregnant women enrolled in straight Medi-Cal or a Medi-Cal Managed Care Plan. Services include:

  • Assistance with obtaining temporary Medi-Cal for pregnancy
  • Referrals to obstetricians, pediatricians and community service agencies
  • Access to prenatal vitamins
  • Childbirth preparation
  • Education on health, nutrition, and pregnancy
  • Pre and postpartum education and support
  • Psychosocial evaluation and individualized counseling

Diabetes and Pregnancy Education

The Diabetes and Pregnancy Education Program provides information, evaluation and intervention for diabetic women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. The goal is to improve pregnancy outcomes for women who have diabetes or develop it during pregnancy, (gestational diabetes) and to reduce fetal deaths and neonatal/maternal complications due to diabetes. Women receive an initial evaluation and follow-up by a registered nurse and dietitian. Provider referral required.

Lactation Support

The Breastfeeding Program provides breastfeeding education and support. Individual appointments are available to all breastfeeding parents. Schedule your one-hour appointment with a lactation specialist for you and your baby. Please call 909.793.6330 to schedule your appointment.
