Medical Oncology FAQ

I received an authorization for treatment at Redlands Community Hospital. What do I do now?

Your referring physician’s office will contact the Center for Cancer Care to request a consultation. Our Center will contact you to schedule an appointment with one of our board-certified Medical Oncologists.

What should I expect before my first treatment?

You oncologist will meet with you to discuss treatment options, risks and benefits.

How long will my treatment take?

Treatment times can vary from a 15-minute injection to several hours of IV therapy. Your provider will discuss this with you in detail during your appointment and before your first treatment.

Can I bring someone with me for my treatment?

We gladly welcome our patients to bring one person with them (18 years or older) during treatment. Unfortunately, space is limited and we are unable to accommodate more than one guest at a time.

Do I have to get my bloodwork done at RCH?

Many of our patients have the option to have bloodwork drawn at Quest or LabCorp, whichever is most convenient for the patient.
